The Energy and Water Agency (EWA) was pleased to participate in FEE Fest 2026, a three‑day event held at St. Nicholas College, Dun Manwel Attard, Wardija Primary School, which brought together students, educators, and sustainability stakeholders from across Malta.

FEE Fest 2026 provided a valuable platform for raising awareness about sustainability through interactive learning, innovation, and dialogue. Throughout the event, EWA engaged directly with learners and educators to highlight the critical importance of water conservation and sustainable water management in Malta.

At the Agency’s stand, visitors were taken on Malta’s water journey, learning about the origins of our national water supply, how water reaches households, and the challenges associated with managing a limited and precious resource. Emphasis was placed on practical actions that individuals can take to reduce water waste and contribute to the protection of Malta’s water resources.

The EWA stand also focused strongly on education and career awareness. Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals from different academic and technical backgrounds, who shared real‑world examples of their work in water management, planning, and conservation. Through these discussions, learners gained insight into the diverse career opportunities available within the water sector.

Interactive activities showcased elements of the GĦAJN National Water Conservation Programme, alongside projects implemented by the Energy and Water Agency in support of Malta’s sustainability and resilience objectives. As part of the Agency’s outreach efforts, participants received a small water‑themed gift, encouraging continued reflection on responsible water use beyond the event.

With over 300 students and more than 100 educators attending, FEE Fest 2026 proved to be an impactful event. EWA is proud to have contributed to an initiative that brought together diverse perspectives and empowered the next generation to take meaningful action toward a more sustainable and water‑secure future for Malta.

This activity formed part of Action C4 of the LIFE-IP RBMP Project, led by the Energy and Water Agency. The action focuses on developing targeted water education initiatives, particularly for younger generations, to raise awareness about Malta’s limited water resources and encourage responsible water‑use behaviours among students and the wider public.
