The National Water Conservation Awareness Centre offers an interactive experience on the need for the conservation of water resources in the Maltese islands.  The Centre is situated in the Nigret Area in Rabat.

The educational activities at the Centre are based on four educational activities – The Water Cycle, The Water Operator, Water in Forts, and the Water Hero, around which four different educational trails have been developed.  Before playing the interactive games, visiting groups are provided with an introductory presentation of the particular water management issue addressed in the selected educational activity. At the end of each visit, visitors are invited to leave their “water conservation messages”.

The Centre is open every day during the week (excluding public holidays) and entrance to the Centre is free of charge. However, pre-booking for group visits is recommended to enable the visitor to have the best experience of the Centre.

The realization of Malta’s National Water Conservation Awareness Centre – GĦAJN was supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants 2009-2014.
